Our Enduring Mission
Since our founding in 1989, the Minnesota Sinfonia has dedicated itself to providing high-quality musical and educational experiences for everyone, with special emphasis given to families, young people, seniors and those with limited financial means. We believe music is a vital bridge that connects diverse communities, regardless of age, education, ethnicity and financial situations, fosters creativity, and enhances academic learning.
By breaking down traditional barriers to classical music, our concerts and educational outreach programs have consistently prioritized inclusivity, artistic excellence, and community engagement.
Commitment to Posterity
With the closing of the Minnesota Sinfonia’s live operations and its transition into this permanent digital archive, our commitment to the education of our nation’s children remains paramount and must be maintained. Music in the Schools (MIS) was created specifically to provide teachers new and unique tools to help children learn often difficult and challenging required core academic subjects. Before the pause in our live performance schedules, MIS worked with 16-20 inner-city public schools and engaged between 8,000-9,500 students annually, ultimately touching the lives of more than 165,000 Minnesota students.
This digital resource hub acts as a bridge for future generations—keeping turnkey, video-backed curriculum guides and multi-disciplinary educational modules directly in the hands of parents and educators, thereby safeguarding our history, and preserving our educational footprint for decades to come.
