For state for the 2020-2021 school year, the focus is on folk music. Folk Tunes from Around the World: focuses on “people’s music” – common and popular songs and melodies that have been used for hundreds of years by composers in symphonies, chamber music, concertos, and yes, in popular music to be sure! The Complete MIS curriculum includes:

  • Curriculum packet (download below) which includes descriptions of the music, composers, and backgrounds.
  •  State-mandated benchmarks and activities for grade levels K-6.
