CORO! is a semi-professional chorus based in the Twin Cities. Founded by two area voice teachers, John-Scott Moir and Lila Olson, CORO! from the beginning has been “an ensemble of vocal soloists,” singing both lyric stage and choral music in a free, unfettered fashion. Since its creation in 2007, the group has gained impressive growth and recognition among Twin Cities audiences. Last year they presented an all-Verdi program with two former students of Artistic Director John-Scott Moir; Mr. John Hines,  “the American Chaliapin” – St. Petersburg, Russia press, and Metropolitan Opera baritone, Mr. Nathan Herfindahl, fresh from his debuts in New York and Washington, D.C.

Maestro Moir and La Scala, Italy soprano Barbara deMaio Caprilli will be presenting their final concert of the season, Opera Italiano, this May. This concert is dedicated to works of Italian Bel Canto opera composers with some American Spirituals to round out the program. Details can be found at their website.
