Percussionist Kory Andry graduated from the Interlochen Arts Academy in 1989, and earned a Bachelor of Percussion Performance from the Louisiana State University in 1993. He currently holds the position of Principal Timpanist of the Minnesota Opera Orchestra, and has been an active freelance percussionist and educator in the Twin Cities area for over ten years.
A past winner of the Percussive Arts Society National Vibraphone Competition Award, Andry’s performance credits include such national touring shows as Wicked, Showboat, Phantom of the Opera, The Producers, Little Shop of Horrors, Spamalot, Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat, Beauty and the Beast, Ragtime, Grease, Mary Poppins, Dream Girls, Young Frankenstein, Blood Brothers, and Hairspray. In addition, he is a regular at the Children’s Theatre Company, where he most recently played for A Year with Frog and Toad, The Wizard of Oz, Honk, and Aladdin. Andry recently performed in She Loves Me, Pirates of Penzance, and Carolyn or Change at the Guthrie Theatre in Minneapolis.
Andry has a full private-teaching studio located in Stillwater, Minnesota and is the percussion teacher at both the Mahtomedi Middle and High School located in Mahtomedi, Minnesota.
